ASHAIMAN RECORDED HIGH TEENAGE PREGNANCY
story by Hagar Sey An Officer from the National Population Council, Florence Hagan, has called on District Assemblies to incorporate Adolescent Reproductive Right in their programmes. According to her this has become necessary because the rate at which teenage pregnancy is increasing in the Country is alarming. Mrs. Hagan said this at a sensitization programme in Ashaiman, to educate various stakeholders in the Municipality on how to improve the life of teenage girls and reduce the spate of teenage pregnancy. She said the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted negatively on teenagers with a lot of them getting impregnated. Mrs. Hagan said for Ghana to attain the Sustainable Development Goal Three, there is the need to put interventions that will help the country to achieve those targets in place.
